The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 14, 2019 (RSCNPF): A man is in Police custody after a firearm and ammunition were found in the vehicle he was driving.

During a joint stop and search operation by Police Officers and Soldiers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force in Charlestown on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, one (1) Glock .40mm pistol was found with ten (10) matching rounds of ammunition. The vehicle was also taken into Police custody as is the practice in such cases.

This is the third firearm to be taken into Police custody for the year. However, the Police are aware that there are more to be taken off the streets of our communities. While Officers and Soldiers continue doing their part to keep St. Kitts and Nevis safe, a call is being made to all citizens and residents to play their role by sharing information with the Police or by reporting suspicious activity using the crime hotline 707.
