Rastafari Nyabinghi Theocracy Order hosts food hamper distribution

The Rastafari Nyabinghi Theocracy Order held an island wide food hamper distribution as part of its week of activities in observance of “Black I-Story” month celebrations which stems from Black History month.

During the first food hamper distribution, Public Relations Officer of the Rastafari Nyabinghi Theocracy Order, Ras Iyah explained why the group felt the need to organize the event, noting that charity begins at home.

The group proceeded to Newtown where another donation was made to an elderly woman affectionately known as “Gran-gran”.

Member of the Rastafari Nyabinghi Theocracy Order, Ras Iron said he felt grateful for the opportunity to gove back.

He also said as part of their creed, it is important to remember the quote, “let the naked be clothed and the hungry be fed”.

The PRO along with other members of the group, used the opportunity to chant scriptures in the presence of the recipients across the island.

The Black I-Story week of activities are being held under the theme, “Reconnecting Black iStory Month With African Spirituality”.

The activities will continue on Friday when the group pays homage to those who sacrificed for the rights of the Rastafarian community
