Maurice Hillier Memorial Black History African Wear Day

(ZIZ News)
The Maurice Hillier Memorial Jr School hosted its African wear day as black history month celebrations continue in the federation.

Grade 3 Teacher, Patricia Hodge explained why the school chose the theme, “Bring Back Our Culture” to celebrate black history.

Mrs. Hodge said the whole idea behind hosting the African wear day is to inform the students about black history.

The students were given the opportunity to dress in various African themed pieces.

The school’s library was also transformed into a mini museum with portraits of black heroes, black inventions and artefacts that were used from yesteryear.
