More than 70 members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce
(SKNCIC) met for its 70 th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Ocean Terrace Inn in
Basseterre last Wednesday – February 27 th , 2019. The main agenda items included the
Chamber’s President’s Message, presentation of Auditors Report; Presentation of the
Financial Report and the Election of the Board of Directors for 2019 to 2020.
The Executive Director of the Chamber Mr. Andrew Satney welcomed members to the
meeting and in his remarks, highlighted the significance of 2019 in the history of the
Chamber as it signified 70 years in the existence. The anniversary will be celebrated in
July this year. He identified some of the successes of the Chamber and the importance
of collaboration between the Private and Public Sector to the economic growth and
development of St. Kits and Nevis.
He reminded members of the Strategic vision of the Chamber which is to enhance the
business environment by building resilience, improving competitiveness and fostering
growth of the private sector.
Twelve new members were welcomed to the Chamber.
At the AGM. two new members were elected to the Board of Directors – Mr. Donald
Thompson of the St. Kitts-Nevis Anguilla National Bank was elected to replace Mr.
Gordon Julien of Scotia Bank as the representative of the Banking/Financial Sector and
Mr. Michael Davis was elected to replace Ms. Carol Boddie as the Treasurer. Members
