Ministers Visit the Elderly

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 2, 2019 (ZIZ News): This past weekend

government ministers honoured a group of citizens, who have lived past 100 years of age, for their contribution to the nation.

Friday was declared Centenarians Day by the Governor General and Deputy Prime Minister, The Hon Shawn Richards, Minister Of State Responsible For Health, The Hon Wendy Phipps and Deputy Speaker, The Hon Akilah Byron Nisbett visited a group of centenarians to thank them for their contribution to the development of our society.

In a post on his Facebook page, Minister Richards said “personally saying thanks to four (4) of these centenarians namely, Ms. Norma Stapleton 102yrs, Ms. Una Duport 103yrs, Mr. Joseph Powell 101yrs and Ms. Laura Manners 100yrs and congratulating them on behalf of the entire federation for their 100 years and more of life, contributions to our development and their general well being was quite heartwarming for me. Senators Wendy Phipps and Akilah Byron Nisbett were equally delighted to do the same on behalf of the Federation.”

He added “May they continue to be blessed with many more years and may we continue to celebrate them”
