Phillips undefeated in the 24th edition of Constituency #7 Domino League after three segments of play

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 2, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — After three segments of play in the first round of the 24th edition of the longest running domino league, the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition, Phillips Domino Club is the only team that has not lost a game.

The team was not in action on the first day of play, Thursday July 25, when they were supposed to have met Molineux Domino Club at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux. They however caused the first major upset on Tuesday July 30 when they travelled to Parsons Ground and demolished home team and the league’s defending champions Parsons Domino Club 13-6 in an entertaining game played at Back Way Bar.

Parsons Domino Club, which is from Constituency Number Six, made history last year when it became the first team from outside Constituency Number Seven to win the highly competitive Constituency Number Seven Domino League competition that is sponsored by Prime Minister of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, and Area Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Number Seven, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris.

Surprise team Phillips Domino Club, was back in action Thursday evening August 1 at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux which is their home ground and humbled the visiting Saddlers Domino Club, the other team from Constituency Number Six taking part in the competition, by beating the visitors 13-6.

Their unbeaten run will however be challenged on Sunday August 4, when the team meets Molineux Domino Club at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux for the game that was missed out on Thursday July 25. Molineux is yet to win a game, after having lost 6-14 to Saddles Domino Club on Tuesday July 30 at Shanty Bar in Saddlers, followed by an identical loss, 6-14, at the hands of Unity Patriots Domino Club on Thursday August 1 at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project.

In games played on Thursday July 25, Guinness Domino Club beat Sylvers Domino Club 13-6 at Bernett Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village; defending Champions Parsons Domino Club whitewashed Small Corner Bar Domino Club 13-1 at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project; Unstoppable Domino Club beat Christchurch Domino Club 13-3 at Domino House in Mansion; and Saddlers Domino Club beat Giants Domino Club 13-6 at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project.

In the second segment of play, on Tuesday July 30, Guinness beat Unity Patriots 14-9 at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project; Small Corner Bar beat Christchurch 13-7 at Domino House in Mansion; Phillips beat defending champions Parsons 13-6 at Back Way Bar in Parsons Ground; Unstoppable beat Sylvers 13-8 at Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux; and Saddlers beat Molineux 14-6 at Shanty Bar in Saddlers Village.

The third segment of play on Thursday August 1 saw Unity Patriots beat Molineux 14-6 at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project; Phillips beat Saddlers 13-6 at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux; Sylvers beat Giants 13-10 at Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village; Christchurch beat Guinness 13-3 at Domino House in Mansion; while Small Corner Bar beat Unstoppable 13-11 at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project.

With Tuesday August 6 being a national public holiday, Culturama Day/Last Lap, the fourth segment of play in the first round of the 24th edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition will be played at five venues on Thursday August 8.

Unity Patriots will meet Small Corner Bar at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project; Giants will face off with Christchurch at Domino House in Mansion; Defending champions Parsons will be at home to Molineux at the Back Way Bar in Parsons Ground; Saddlers will travel to Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village, to face home team Sylvers; while Phillips will meet Unstoppable at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux.
