In a statement issued to the media on Monday, Social Security explained that only “a maximum number of clients will be allowed to gather in the Lobby at any particular time, to curb the possibility of contagion”.

The statement continued, “You may access information related to your claim via the telephone at 869 465-2535 or 469-5245”.

The release said persons are required to have their Social Security number on hand and must be prepared to answer any questions that may prove that the representative is in fact speaking to the person intended.

Persons are also asked to use the Drop Box facilities on the outside of the buildings and online banking through either Republic Bank or National Bank for payments to Social Security.

Social Security then pledged to advise customers of any new developments in a timely manner.
