Mr. Abdias Samuel, Chairman of COVID -19 National Task Force during the May 05 National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) Daily COVID-19 Briefing

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 8, 2020 (ZIZ News): Chair of the Covid-19 Task Force, Abdias Samuels condemned the actions of persons making prank calls to the 911 line used for emergencies.

He was presenting at the NEOC Covid-19 Daily Briefing on Thursday where he reported that of the 136 calls received in the last 24-hours, 77 were prank calls and asked that persons desist from doing this.

“I want to make an appeal to all individuals who are carrying out these prank calls to seize from doing so. We are still dealing with a pandemic and I’m asking you to please be guided accordingly.”

He describes the action as “callous” and warned that taking the time to make a prank call could cost someone their life.
