SKNOC Headquarters Upgrade

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 17th, 2020 (ZIZ News) A one and a half million dollar project to renovate and expand the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC) is expected to be completed by the October 31 deadline.

This, despite work stoppage for a three week period as a result of COVID-19 stipulations, says Alphonso Bridgewater, President of the SKNOC and local Commonwealth Games Association (CGA).

President Bridgewater noted that the project, which was started on March 9, aims to construct a building that is in line with expectations placed on his organization, especially with the rapid evolution and expansion of the sporting sector.

The Expansion phase entails the creation of an additional 1300 square feet of space while the renovation aspect is a timely facelift for the structure, which was purchased by the SKNOC over seventeen years ago.

The completed project will feature a conference room with modern ICT equipment, a board room, two kitchenettes, bathrooms (inclusive of ADA compliant lavatory) and a museum.

It is expected the SKNOC’s next general assembly will be held in the improved facility.

Baley Construction is the contractor for the structure and the project manager is Calvin Pemberton.
