A Conaree man nursing a broken arm following a traffic accident

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (October 26th 2011). The Traffic Department is investigating a traffic accident which occurred at about 9:15 am on October 26th 2011 at Bird Rock.

The accident involved motor van P3553 driven by Rosalyn Hazelle of North Pelican Drive, Bird Rock and a pedestrian Glenroy Hendrickson of Conaree.

Investigations revealed that the pedestrian was crossing the road when he was struck by the van.

He was taken to the JNF Hospital where he was treated for a broken arm. Investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile the Traffic Department wishes to dispel rumours that there was a fatal traffic accident involving four passenger buses in the country area. There was no report of such accident at any of the Police Stations around the island. We are therefore dismissing this as a false and malicious rumour and ask that persons refrain from circulating unconfirmed reports, as they cause unnecessary anxiety in the public.
