Accident on the Kim Collins Highways leaves drivers and passengers injured

ZIZ News…May 28 2012 — The Police are investigating the circumstances which led to a vehicular accident on Sunday evening on the Kim Collins Highway which left persons severely injured.

According to a police statement, the accident took place at around 6 30 pm involving motor vehicles P-9397 driven by Varum Atre of Frigate Bay and PA 4668 driven by Sunil Liddie of Lime Kiln.

It was reported that P 9397 was travelling from airport end going towards Central Bank and PA 4668 was travelling in the opposite direction when both vehicles collided and ended up on the grass on the eastern side of the road.

The release stated that the scene was processed and the fire dept assisted in cutting the driver Sunil Liddie from his vehicle. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital along with two passengers who were in P 9397 and the driver of PA 4668 complained of chest pain and laceration to both of his legs. The driver and passengers of P 9397 received minor laceration to his face and hands.

Investigation into this accident is ongoing.
