Alley United FC Takes Early Lead in Sandy Point Community Football League

FootballFilePhotoBBASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — As the National Caribbean Insurance Ltd Sandy Point Community Football League continued to take shape, the Alley United Football Club extended its winning streak on Sunday October 6th , when it beat Crab Hill United Football Club 4-2.

Goal scorers for Alley United were Kurt Simmonds who found the back of the opponents’ net twice in the 20th and 23rd minutes, Gavin Marsham in the 45th minute, and Malcolm Marsham in the 53rd minute.

Making a reply for the losing side was Gleron Burke in the 24th minute and Glenroy Bradshaw in the 34th minute. The match was refereed by Stuart Rawlins.

In an earlier game played on the same day, Sandy Point Future Ballers Football Club picked up maximum points when they beat Fig Tree Dirt Revellers Football Club 2-0, in a match refereed by Graeme Browne.

The goals for the winning team were netted by Verto Francis in the 21st minute and Alanique Williams in the 52nd minute.

The Sandy Point playfield on Saturday October 5 saw an exciting game where Half Way Tree Football Club beat Cleverly Hill United Football Club 3-2 in a cliff-hanger match refereed by Graeme Browne.

Scores in this exciting game were level 2-2 to the last three minutes before the final whistle when Half Way Tree’s Charles Thomas found the back of the opponents’ net in the 58th minute in this shortened game of 60 minutes to break the stalemate.

Thomas had struck the first two goals in the 7th and 40th minutes. For the Cleverly Hill United, Mario Williams scored in the 23rd minute and David ‘Sam Sam’ Challenger scored in the 37th minute.

Points standing after the Sunday games are: Alley United FC 12 points (23 goals); Sandy Point Future Ballers FC 9 points (5 goals); Newton Ground FC 6 points (6 goals); Half Way Tree FC 6 points (11 goals); and Crab Hill FC 3 points (8 goals).

Others are Cleverly Hill FC 3 points (6 goals); Transformation FC 3 points (8 goals); Fig Tree Dirt Revellers FC 3 points (6 goals); Norgen Wilson Soho United FC 1 point (8 goals); St. Thomas Strickers FC 1point (5 goals); and Unique Touch 0 point (3 goals).
