Alzheimer’s Association Celebrates Its 7th Anniversary on July, 24th, 2021

The Alzheimer’s Association of St. Kitts and Nevis came into being in 2014 when a small group of persons joined with others from the Moravian Senior Club and the Ripple Institute to form an association which they were sure would meet an unfulfilled need.

The Association now takes the opportunity of the celebration of its 7th Anniversary to say thanks to our committed members, supporters and those organizations, which hopefully will be our future partners.

As we mark this the 7th year of our existence, we wish to assure the public, that despite the COVID-19 pandemic which has certainly affected our work, we are continuing in our advocacy to create greater awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and to provide support to people with dementia and their caregivers.

We extend our sincerest gratitude to the Girl Guides Association of St. Kitts for it continued generosity to us, in that for the past six (6) years, with the exception of the periods of the COVID lock down, they have allowed us to have our regular meetings in their Headquarters in Taylor’s Range.

We look forward to the continuation of our work and for a greater partnership with the Department of Social Services and Community Development and the Ministry of Health, as we all work towards the necessary development of A National Dementia Plan, which is one of the stated goals of all of the 105 Alzheimer’s Association worldwide (St. Kitts and Nevis included) which are members of Alzheimer’s disease international (ADI).
