Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 23, 2019 (ZIZ News): 2 ambulances were donated to the Joseph N. France hospital in a ceremony at the J.N.F hospital administration building on Friday.
The ambulances were purchased through the fundraising efforts of the J.N.F hospital and donations from the social security board.
In his opening remarks director of the social security board, Antonio Maynard said that the donation of these ambulances aims to enhance the emergency response capabilities of the Joseph N. France hospital.
“We do recognize the importance of having functional fully loaded and technologically advanced ambulances as part of our fleet thus it was necessary for these vehicles to be purchased and to be commissioned to meet the needs of those who require emergency care.”
Minister of state responsible for health, Honourable Wendy Phipps said that the addition of the 2 ambulances is a welcomed improvement.
Minister of health, Honourable Eugene Hamilton expressed thanks to the social security board for their continuous support.
Minister Hamilton also thanked Dr. Cameron Wilkinson and his team for their fundraising efforts.
The 2 ambulances bring the total fleet to 5 ambulances available in St. Kitts.
