ZIZ News…March 6, 2011 – ZIZ’s 50th Birthday celebrated yesterday March 5, received an overwhelming response from the fans and past workers far and near.

The programming to mark this significant date in the history of St. Kitts and Nevis begun with a message from the Information Minister the Hon. Nigel Carty followed by a brief address by the Chairman of ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation Mr. R A Peter Jenkins.

During the programming the lines were flooded with calls from as far as Iraq, the UK, USA and the other neighbouring islands in the region.

Many persons were of the view that ZIZ will never die and wished the Station continued success as we keep to our mandate of Proudly Uniting, Leading, Serving and Entertaining.

Former staff members got an opportunity to chit chat with the DJs and spoke about their experience during their time here at ZIZ.

A number of business houses came on board as well in support of the 50th Anniversary and provided prizes and other goodies to the station as their contribution to this notable achievement of fifty years as a Broadcasting entity.

This morning members of staff along with other invited guests will join with the Antioch Baptist Church as they too will be celebrating their birthday and give thanks to the father for seeing us through for the past fifty years.
