Anna Linner Assists Nevisian Athletes

ZIZ News…Jan 20 2012 – A very significant ceremony was held at the Education Office at Marion Heights on Thursday 19th January.

A planning session was held with Education officials and Coaches of the various Primary Schools on Nevis in preparation for the grand Inter Primary School Meet for 2012. It was decided that the prestigious event will be held on Wednesday April 4th and according to Mr. Lester Blackett, President of the Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (NAAA), there will be a few innovations this year which will be elaborated on in the not too distant future.

Immediately after the planning session, Mr. Bllackett was pleased to present to the Coaches present, several sets of starting blocks which were sent by Ms Anna Linner of Sweden. Anna Linner who works for a government run sporting Agency in Sweden has attended the ‘mini Olympics’ in the past and has always assisted the Nevisian athletes in various ways.

Also assisting with making the presentations was Mrs. Carla Liburd of the NAAA and Principal Education Officer, Mrs. Lornette Queeley-Connor.

The Coaches all expressed appreciation for the gifts and acknowledged that they will definitely help in a big way to prepare the athletes for the grand event.
