The Leeward Cricket Board Of Directors has announced the appointment of a new captain and vice captain for The Leeward Islands Hurricanes cricket team for the upcoming Digicel Sports Max PCL Regional 4 Day Competition.
Director of cricket Operations for the Leeward Islands Cricket Board Limited Vernon Springer spoke with ZIZ about the appointment.
“The Leeward Cricket Board Directors over the past weekend approved the nomination by the Leeward Island Cricket Board selectors and have appointed Kieran Powell and Rahkeem Cornwall as captain and vice captain for the Digicel Sports Max PCL Regional 4 Day Competition which will start in November 2016 and run until 2017.”
He spoke of what this means for the Leeward Islands Hurricanes cricket team stating, “That’s really major good news for both Cornwall and Powell who are away on West Indies “A” team duties in Sri Lanka; so good things happening for the Leeward Islands Hurricanes.”
