Appreciation For Help A Child Program

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 23rd , 2020 (ZIZ News): The Help a Child Programme which has, over the past 17 years awarded students of constituency #7 with scholarships of $500 has been applauded by parents and teachers.

Principal of the Estridge Primary School Mercia Dore spoke highly of the initiative noting that it is of greater significance as the pandemic affects parents.

“These awards are important to the children because there times when parents have financial difficulties and in these times when covid has affected the employment rate, these awards are very important because it provides parents with financial assistance so they can now afford to purchase items for their children’s school.”

Shervin King who is the father of Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School Recipient Shervion King, expressed gratitude for the initiative.

“Little is much when God is in it so of course we are grateful for any little assistance that we can get so it is a great deal of help. That’s $500 less coming from our pockets so thank you.

This year’s Help a Child Programme awarded 95 students across constituency 7.
