Attorney General Byron wants Employees within Legal Profession to see their Roles as Important

(ZIZ News) — Attorney General, Hon. Vincent Byron wants police officers and others who are employed within the legal profession to see their roles as critical to the administration of justice.

On Wednesday, Byron told police officers that while it is important to apprehend criminals, they should not do so in haste, thereby detaining innocent people.

“I think it is important for you to understand that citizens, ordinary citizens look at you everyday, how you treat them, how you interact with them and something that has been with me while you’ve been speaking here, we apprehend people who break the law. We enforce the law but each and every one of us have brothers and sisters. We are part of the community. We are citizens too and that you must see the average citizen as being somebody who is law abiding. The glass is half full, not half empty,” he explained.

AG Byron also said that police officers and others within the legal profession should support people who go about their everyday lives without breaking the law.

He said it is important to be pleasant to them, therefore showing them that officers are just around the corner to “give them every assistance they may need if they are threatened.”
