Back To School Fair

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 18, 2020 (ZIZ News):As the new academic school year approaches, one resident of East Basseterre sought to assist parents in that community with school supplies by hosting a back to school fair.

Attorney at Law, Natasha Grey said that she decided to host this event to assist the parents of students who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“ In light of the Covid pandemic a lot of persons have been affected financially in the tourism sector and different sectors throughout the federation and I decided, seeing that I am from the East Basseterre community I decided to try and give back a little token of what I would have been able to benefit from throughout the years to the persons who are less fortunate and so I thought that persons who have lost their job – their children would have been affected and so I decided let me do a little something, a little gesture for the children whose parents have been affected,” she said.

She also mentioned what persons can expect when they come to the event.

We have a number of events some games, face painting, bouncing castles, food and drink and then a little later on in the afternoon we’ll have the school supplies distribution. So we hope that everyone will come out from the community to kind of ensure that the children have some fun but at the same time they are prepared to go back to school.”

Grey added that the event will cater to children of any age, from pre-school to high school.

The back to school fair will be held on Saturday August 22nd at Newtown Paddock from 12 noon to p.m. and admission is free.
