(Sports Page)— The Village Premier league (VPL) continued at the Hard times playing field on Sunday 16th November with two matches.
In match one, The Hanley’s Road Party Essential team won the toss and batted first and amassed 88 at the end of their allotted 10 overs.
The Butler’s team cruised to victory, losing just two wickets in the process.
The second match ended up as somewhat as a farce.
What was supposed to be a much anticipated grudge match between the teams of two bus drivers: JAHBASS and Morris, only lasted four overs in total, with the high point being, JAHBASS clean bowling Morris for two.
The Morris team won the toss and batted first and was on 18 for 3 in the fourth over when it was realized that there was nobody else to bat. The other players who had indicated a willingness to play had changed their minds.
The match was awarded to the JAHBASS team.
