CAIC meeting set for St. Kitts June 11, 2011

ZIZ News…Dec. 14, 2010 – Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, Senior Minister and Minister of Industry and Commerce, has confirmed that plans are further advanced for St Kitts and Nevis to host the 7th Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC) Conference in June next year. Dr Harris met on Tuesday, December 07, 2010, with Mr Carol Evelyn, President of the CAIC and Ms Carol Ayoung, CEO of the Trinidad based CAIC to discuss matters relating to St Kitts and Nevis hosting of the event.

The event is a premier one of the regional private sector/public sector calendar. It has the support of CARICOM Heads who several years back agreed to give the CAIC observer status at CARICOM Heads Meeting.

Dr Harris was accompanied by Permanent Secretary, Rosalyn Hazelle and Deidre Daniel, Trade Policy Officer in the Ministry of International Trade. Ms Daniel is the local focal point for coordinating the event.

The Senior Minister promised to keep the public updated as material developments take place.
