Calypso under the microscope as we celebrate 40/40

ZIZ News…Dec 11, 2011 – ZIZ Radio provided the right forum for discussion when Theo Clarke and Conse Edwards gave calypso lovers an opportunity to give their opinion on all aspects of Calypso and Calypso judging.

On Saturday night the discussion brought out the level of understanding of the Calypso Art form by nationals of St Kitts and Nevis at home and abroad who called in to make their contribution.

The impromtu call in segment looked at the criteria for judging calypso and the selection of judges to the standard of calypso this year. The list for the semi finalist was also brought under the microscope.

There were a number of suggestions coming forward and opinions which were all looked at by the host of the program Theo Clarke and Conse Edwards who is the founder of National Showcase which is aired on a Tuesday night.

A suggestion was also made for a program to look at all aspects of Carnival over the past Forty years and the top forty calypsos over the same period.

Constantine Lord Black Edwards also released his song for carnival 2011.
