Basseterre, St Kitts – 14th December 2012 – The first competitors to hit the stage at the Sugar Mill will be 16 Calypsonians who will compete in the Senior Calypso Monarch Semi-Finals on Sunday 16th December.

Each competitor will perform two (2) Calypso tunes in hopes of earning one of seven spots in the Finals to challenge King Konris for his title.

The Semi-finalists selected numbers for their order of appearance. First on stage will be Lord Kut, followed by Lady Diva, Mighty Bra Bread, Singing Jackie, Astro, Forest, Godfrey, Socrates, Pung-Wa, Big Lice, Ace, I Sour Sop, Alamoulou, Rudder, Calypso Craig and finally TakeOver.

Calypsonians will be backed by the Grand Masters Proud Sound and Legends Bands at the show that begins at 4:00 p.m. Sandra B and Reggie will host the evening’s activities.

To witness the showdown, admission is only $20 and tickets can be purchased at the Carnival Office in the Pelican Mall or Tony Berry’s Liquor Centre in the Village.

Scores published on the The National Carnival facebook page (www.facebook.com/skncarnival) from the Elimination rounds indicate that this should be a keenly contested Semi-final that will lead to a climactic finale for this year’s Carnival Calypso Season.

The Finals takes place on Friday 28th December at the Sugar Mill where the eight (8) finalists including King Konris will compete for the Crown.
