Candidates nominated in Constituency #7
Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 27, 2020 (ZIZ News): Nomination day in Constituency #7 saw the selection of Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris, the candidate for the People’s Labour Party and Leon Natta-Nelson, the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party’s candidate for constituency #7.
Leon Natta-Nelson who has been nominated for the first time in Constituency #7 arrived at the Nomination site at the Tabernacle Police Station, accompanied by supporters of the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party dressed in red.
He told ZIZ News he was excited about the nomination and the opportunity to represent the people of his constituency.
He said the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party plans to take advantage of the time leading up to the elections to promote their plans for the country.
“I’m elated right now. I’m so happy that this moment has come. This is the day that the Lord has given to me and the people of Number 7 shall be proud of my works to come in the future.” He said “We will continue to reach out to the people to inform them of our plans and our intentions to serve the people of constituency seven and the wider country on a whole. I think the people are eager to hear from us and they are eager and waiting for elections to come.”
In similar fashion, the nominated candidate of the People’s Labour Party for Constituency #7 Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris was also accompanied by supporters clad in white and orange.
He said he felt good about the nomination and is optimistic that the people of the constituency will elect him once again.
“I am very optimistic because it has been the norm the the people of St. Christopher 7, they have always treated me well in every election in which I have contested. I feel very satisfied that I have delivered in keeping with the expectations and I expect on election day they will go out in large numbers, vote early, vote for Dr. Timothy Harris.”
Both candidates were nominated by young persons who are registered to vote in constituency #7. The nomination took the form of a signing ceremony and a fee of $150 EC was paid by each nominee to finalize the process.
Leon Natta-Nelson and Dr. Timothy Harris will contest the federal general elections scheduled for June 5th 2020.
