Cardiologist presents Lecture on Cardiovascular Disease

ArthurAgatston-1Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKNIS): World Renowned Cardiologist Dr. Arthur Agatston will be in St. Kitts and Nevis on September 13, 2014, as the Keynote Speaker of the Caribbean Wellness Week Lecture Series.

Dr. Agatston will be addressing the topic “Predicting and Reversing Cardiovascular Disease,” a subject in which he is well versed considering that his work with Dr. Warren Janowitz in the “Agatston Score” earned him the title of pioneer in cardiac disease prevention. The Agatston Score is a method of screening for coronary calcium as an indicator of the substance that is considered by experts to be the best single predictor of a future heart attack.

Dr. Agatston is also the Medical Director of Wellness and Prevention at Baptist Health South Florida. He has a cardiology practice in Miami Beach in which he focuses on preventing heart attacks in high-risk patients.

Dr. Agatston’s publications include the best-selling book, “The South Beach Diet” and more than 100 scientific articles and abstracts in medical journals. He has lectured around the world and come September 13, from 6 – 9 p.m., residents of St. Kitts will have the opportunity to hear him in person at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort. After the lecture a question and answer period will follow, during which the audience will have the opportunity to receive personal advice from Dr. Agatston.
