Caribbean Investment Summit Day 1

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 20, 2019 (ZIZ News): Heads of Citizenship by Investment Units, Developers, as well as International Marketing Agents and service providers from around the world are in St. Kitts to participate in the 4th Annual Caribbean Regional Summit at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

Day 1 of the summit saw approximately 400 attendees from China, India, the Middle East, Russia, the United Kingdom, United States of America and across the region participating in discussions on Safeguarding Caribbean solidarity under a Global Media Spotlight, the Unity of the Four Pillars within a CBI Program, crises Communications/Brand Management among other topics.

Addressing the opening session, CEO of the Citizenship by Investment Unit Les Khan spoke of the journey of Caribbean Citizenship over the past 35 years.

Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris presented on the topic “A Focus on Regional Leadership and Vision: 35 years of Caribbean CIP, looking back, the Sustainable Path Forward.”

He noted that with 35 years of history and experience in providing Economic Citizenship, St. Kitts and Nevis and the four other Caribbean Citizenship by Investment jurisdictions are well positioned to play a leadership role in shaping the future of the global CBI industry.
Over the following two days, delegates will address at length the various challenges impacting the viability of the region’s CBI programmes including policy options of the organisation for economic co-operation and development, the matter of the EU Blacklisting and constraints on correspondent banking and their effect on the efficiency of the programmes.
