Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant Launched

(ZIZ) — 11 young ladies from across the region will be taking part in the 34th Annual Haynes Smith Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant later this month.

Organizers held a press conference at ZIZ studios on Tuesday morning to officially launch the pageant.

The panel promised an exciting show and revealed the names of this year’s contestants. They are… Heidi Burrow of Barbados,  Jasmine Laville of Dominica,  Leanne Percelle of Grenada, Tiffany Bonner of Guyana, from Jamaica Jezzelle Fisher, from Montserrat Vanice Tuitt, Nevis’ Irvieeka Nisbett, from St. Kitts Pernelle Abraham, Pauline Francis of St. Lucia , Trinidad And Tobago’s Tenisha Weeks, And From The USVI Dejanique Liddie.

Chairman of the Haynes Smith Executive Committee, Antonio Maynard noted that this is more than just a simple pageant.

He said “The principal objective of this longstanding event is to contribute towards the personal development of young people through the performing arts.  And as well to promote regional integration and tourism among Caribbean young women”

The Federation’s representatives spoke about how it feels to be a part of the competition.

Nevis’ Irveeka Nisbett, said “I believe that I can carry home the crown this year and I’m just taking the experience very calm and cool.”

“For me I’m really excited.  I really want to show my talent and represent my beautiful country Sugar City, St. Kitts,” said Pernelle Abraham.

The other contestants arrive on the 28th of December and will attend a dinner with Prime Minister Douglas and a luncheon with the Hon Sam Condor among other activities.

The show takes place on Monday December 30 at Sugar Mill Stadium at Warner Park.
