CARIMAC Change Programmes

ZIZ News…May 8th, 2013 — The University of the West Indies is changing its degree courses for those who want to study media. This will affect those studying at the university and at open campuses including St. Kitts.

A top official from Caribbean Institute for Media and Communications says they are implementing a bachelor’s degree in journalism which would cover radio, TV and print.

Professor Hopeton Dunn, Director of CARIMAC, says they also want to expand into new areas as well.

Dunn says this is in response to demand on a global level and within the workplace.

Professor Dunn says as CARIMAC celebrates its fortieth anniversary next year they see it as an opportunity to expand CARIMAC into a school of communication.
