CARPHA and UWI Agreement

The Caribbean Public Health Agency and the University of West Indies have signed an agreement to tackle the spread of viruses across the region.

The signing took place during the morning session of the CARICOM Heads of Government Conference at the Marriott resort.

Prime Minister Dr. The Hon Timothy Harris noted the significance of the partnership between CARPHA and the UWI in tackling public health issues.

Vice chancellor of the University of the West Indies, Sir Hilary Beckles gave some background on the initiative

He also said that one of the biggest problems the region faced is the spread of viruses, noting that the cooperation with CARPHA will help to address such.
