Cayon Explorer Club Launched

Officials from the Ministry of National Security and other Government sectors joined the youth of Cayon and surrounding areas for the launch of the Cayon Explorers Club.

This is the most recent in a series of Youth Clubs launched by the Government as part of the social arm of fighting crime.

The aim is to reach out to the youth and keep them away from negative influences and on a positive path.

During the launch ceremony on Saturday, September 8th, at the Cayon Primary School, Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris emphasized that one of the main goals of the explorer clubs is to keep young people away from gangs as this would only lead to a path of destruction.

He also commended the parents who were present for being a part of the initiative as research has shown that parents are the most influential factors in the lives of children.

This is the fifth Explorer Club that has been launched in St. Kitts – Nevis. Previously, clubs were launched for the youth of Molyneux & Phillips, Shadwell, St.Paul’s and St. Peter’s.
