Check for accurate VAT Charges
ZIZ News — VAT tax charges have been cut to 5% today, as Government implements what is becoming an annual VAT free day in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Inland Revenue Department has been promoting the event with senior tax inspector Gary Thomas advising customers to be vigilant and check receipts to ensure the reduced rate is charged by businesses.
He says however the public needs to be aware that there are some products and services that do not qualify for the VAT discount.
The Government has also decided to have another VAT discount day in December, the one falls again on a Thursday December 19th.
