Church’s Role in Fighting HIV

ZIZ News — September 30 2013 — Senior stakeholders in the national effort to fight HIV AIDS have said that Churches and other religious bodies play an important role in tackling the epidemic.

Technical director at the Caribbean HIV AIDS Alliance regional office, Dylis Macdonald said they have been working with churches to raise awareness about human rights.

Chairperson of the St. Kitts Christian Council, reverend Nasel Ephraim says the church needs to forget about stigma and discrimination and welcome anyone who needs help.

Reverend Ephraim says the church needs to be more open and become that place where anyone, regardless of their place in society, can feel free to be themselves.
