CIBC First Caribbean International Bank donates to Alexandra Hospital

In its efforts to support the advancement of healthcare, the CIBC First Caribbean International Bank donated a cheque for more than two thousand three hundred dollars to the Alexandra Hospital during a ceremony at the hospital’s conference room on Wednesday.

The donation came after the bank’s walk for the cure initiative.

During his welcome remarks, Hospital Administrator, Gary Pemberton said the hospital will do all it can to improve the healthcare of the people on Nevis.

“We are continuing in our endeavour best to provide the necessary service to the people and residents here on Nevis. This ceremony is also very important as First Caribbean sees it fit to contribute to the advancement of health care on Nevis”, he said.

Country Manager, Jacqueline Burton noted that the donation is one of many that the bank has given to aid in the enhancement of cancer care.

Over 30 thousand dollars has been distributed altogether from the various fundraisers.

Burton noted that the bank is aiming even higher this year.

“This year we are aiming higher and we want to raise US $500, 000.00 across the Caribbean. We are confident that we can achieve this goal with your help”, Burton expressed.

Branch Manager- Jasmine Parris Handed Over The Cheque To Permanent Secretary In The Ministry Of Health Nicole Slack-Liburd who thanked the bank for their contributions.

“We are pleased to be a recipient and considered as well for a donation from First Caribbean’s Walk For The Cure initiative. We congratulate you on this initiative; we know that you have been doing it for quite a number of years. We wish you good luck in your future endeavours. We take this opportunity to thank First Caribbean and look forward to joining with you in your efforts as you continue to raise the awareness of prevention, cares and treatment of cancers here in St. Kitts and Nevis”, the PS stated.

The CIBC First Caribbean International Bank’s cancer walk initiative is slated for October 1.
