CIBC FirstCaribbean says Thank You — Recognizing our Staff and Clients

Basseterre, 29th May, 2012 — CIBC FirstCaribbean made the time to celebrate its staff and say ‘Thank You’ on 16th May, 2013 which the bank observed worldwide as Employee Appreciation Day.

Throughout the region each office planned and hosted various activities to show the bank’s appreciation to its employees for their contribution over the past year. Each staff member received a small token and a signed card from his/her manager, and different department heads and the bank’s Senior Executive Team disseminated messages to all employees.

Country Manager for St Kitts and Nevis, Ladesa James-Williams says “Celebrating Employee Appreciation Day is important, because it recognizes that employees of the bank are its greatest assets and that none of its plans and programmes could be implemented successfully without its staff.”

For CIBC FirstCaribbean staff in the Nevis Branch the day began with a home visit by Branch Manager, Ms Jasmine Parris, from as early as 6:30 am. Ms Parris warmly thanked each member of staff for the contributions they had made to the success of the bank. During the day special radio messages and song requests were also sent via VON Radio to each member of staff, who noted Ms Parris “were our reason to celebrate.”

As the day progressed staff engaged in a Huddle at the branch and at around 10:30am, each member of staff was presented with live/fresh corsages and boutonnieres. By about 4:30 pm staff received more treats when they were presented with gifts and cards from their direct Supervisor or Manager. The Appreciation Day in Nevis ended with a dinner and Karaoke session at Ole House Café from 8:00 pm. Staff sang to their hearts’ content as the bank discovered new talent in singing and dancing among them.

All in the spirit of saying Thank You, it was the turn of the customers at the Basseterre branch, when the branch recognized their customers with a Customer Appreciation Day on 17th May 2013. Customers were treated to snack plates and other goodies as they visited the branch.

Through these and other ongoing activities in the areas of sports, education, and community sponsorships, CIBC FirstCaribbean continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating an environment where all employees can excel and to making a real difference in communities.
