CIBC FirstCaribbean Warns Of Fraudsters Pretending To Do Survey On Behalf Of Bank

Basseterre, St. Kitts, 14 December 2021 – CIBC FirstCaribbean is warning its clients to be wary of fraudsters pretending to be staff members carrying out a survey on behalf of the bank in St. Kitts.

“It has come to our attention that unauthorized individuals alleging to be employees of CIBC FirstCaribbean have been requesting valuable information, from our clients, through a survey. We wish to alert members of the public that this is an ongoing scam,” said the bank’s Country Head (ag), in St. Kitts, Starlina Roserie.

She stressed that the bank “will never ask its clients to provide their Social Security number, ATM or debit card PIN, or any other sensitive information through an email, survey, phone call, text message, social media”.

Ms. Roserie strongly advised clients to refrain from engaging in conversations with persons who request their information through a survey or otherwise.

“If you receive a suspicious call, visit, text, or email from someone claiming to be a CIBC FirstCaribbean representative, do not respond and contact your branch to verify any request,” she added.
