CMO says St. Lucians are praising Comfort’s Care
Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 2, 2019 (ZIZ News): Chief Medical Officer Dr Hazel Laws is noting that St. Lucian patients are singing the praises of the recent visit of the us Navy Ship Comfort.
Dr. Laws comments came shortly after voicenotes were being circulated on social media urging St. Lucians not to go on the ship and suggesting there was some ulterior motive for the visit.
In a phone interview with ZIZ, Dr Laws said since the visit there has been nothing but positive reviews from patients in St. Lucia.
She said “The ship has completed its mission in St. Lucia and the patients in St. Lucia who accessed care on board the US naval ship and at the two land-based sites they are singing high praises for the medical team of the US Navy Ship Comfort. The patients described the team members about the ship as ‘friendly’ and some of the patients are very happy with the quality of care that they have ascertained from the ship’s team.”
Dr. Laws said patients have described the experience as very pleasant and she encouraged nationals to take advantage of the upcoming opportunity.
She said persons who feel they may need care offered on the ship are urged to visit their local doctor for possible referral.
