Commissioner Ian Queeley

Commissioner of police, Ian Queeley has vowed to leave no stone unturned in the investigation into the shooting death of Sgt Leon Powell. Powell was shot and killed in his bar in Newtown Ground around 1am on Saturday.

During a press briefing on Saturday afternoon, Commissioner Queeley called the killing an attack on the force and the entire nation.

He described violent acts against the police as completely unacceptable.

The commissioner said a meeting was held with all ranks of the police force and he said there is a mix of emotions among the officers.

He said no effort will be spared in this matter and the police will use all resources available to ensure that justice is served.
