Confidence in St. Kitts and Nevis’ CBI Programme

(ZIZ)– Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Ministry, Her Excellency Astona Browne has re-emphasized the security of the Citizenship by Investment Programme.

Refuting claims about persons using the programme for illegal means, Ambassador Browne referred to a speaker at an ongoing Diplomat Training Workshop who noted that there is a very small percentage of persons who would even be interested in using the programme for illegal purposes.

“Very, very minor groups of persons would want to move for such types of reasons: to evade taxation and for criminal purposes and these are not persons who we would find in the programme because there are procedures, of course. There are processing procedures that would flag persons of that nature,” she explained.

Browne was referring to a presentation by Armand Arton, President and CEO of Arton Capital.  She noted that he flagged St. Kitts and Nevis as one of the well-sought-after countries and programmes.

“Ranking just second below a country like Cyprus but he was very pleased to say that and it’s important that people know the truth when it relates to these programmes because we know what we’re doing here in St. Kitts and Nevis and there are others who know what they’re seeing as well and are impressed and are willing to learn from us.”
