(ZIZ News) – Hon. Ian “Patches” Liburd is once again giving back to residents of his constituency in a big way.
On Saturday, the office of the constituency number one representative was buzzing with activity as parents and children gathered to receive school supplies that were being distributed by the Ian Patches Liburd Social Assistance and Youth Development Fund Committee.
Committee Member, Christopher Roberts said the donation included vouchers for cutting and plaiting of students’ hair.
He said, “We are giving out school supplies to kids in the East Basseterre area and we would like to say a big thank you to the minister and all those persons inside the office who helped in getting these school supplies out to the kids. We are also giving them vouchers to get their hair cut and also for the girls, we are giving them vouchers to get their hair plait around the constituency so we want to say a big thank you to everyone who have donated these supplies and who have taken part in it.”
According to Randy James, who is also a member of the committee, it is important for social groups in other constituencies to follow suit in helping individuals in need.
Ian Patches Liburd Social Assistance and Youth Development Fund is an initiative funded by the Constituency #1 Representative to provide social assistance to persons in need.
