Constituency Seven celebrating 25 years of exceptional representation by Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris
(Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – On November 29, 1993, the people of Constituency #7 (Belle Vue to Ottley’s Village) entrusted their leadership in the capable hands of Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris with an overwhelming show of support at the electoral polls. In the next five general elections, the people time and time again stood behind Dr. Harris and handsomely re-elected him as their Parliamentary Representative.
Twenty-five (25) years after that transformative elections in 1993, a group of constituents came together to organize a number of celebratory events in recognition of the stellar performance and excellent representation by Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris that has not only transformed the lives of the people of Constituency #7, but also the lives of Kittitians and Nevisians everywhere.
In recognition of this significant milestone, the Planning Committee for Constituency #7 – Celebrating 25 Years of Service by Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris has put together a calendar of wholesome, people-centred community events and activities.
These activities commence with a thanksgiving service at the House of Deliverance New Testament Church of God on Main Street in Tabernacle at 10 am on Sunday, November 11. The full calendar was revealed during a live press conference on Thursday (November 8) at the Edgar T. Morris Primary School in Tabernacle.
While there, member of the Planning Committee for the activities celebrating Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris’ 25 years of service, Mrs. Elreter Simpson-Browne said that this milestone is one that is worthy of celebration, particularly given the tremendous impact Dr. Harris has had on the lives of the people whom he serves.
“Dr. Harris has been an inspiration, he has been a motivation, he has been a source of encouragement for all of his constituents and the country as a whole,” Mrs. Simpson-Browne said. “This [celebration] is really a testimony of what our beloved Prime Minister has done for us as constituents of Number Seven. This is our way of saying thank you to him, this is our way of saying we appreciate him because for 25 years he has really given of his time to really transform the constituency.”
Mrs. Simpson Browne added that whether it is in the area of education, employment, or healthcare assistance, “Dr. Timothy Harris has touched the life of every family throughout this constituency for the past 25 years in some way, shape or form. So this effort is just [from] the constituents who have come together and say we need to celebrate this person.”
