Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 6, 2020 (ZIZ News): Chairman of the COVID-19 National Task Force, Mr. Abdias Samuel is encouraging residents and citizens to continue to be extremely cautious despite reports that St. Kitts and Nevis is flattening the curve of the coronavirus.

Mr. Samuel was at the time making remarks at the May 4 NEOC daily COVID-19 briefing at the NEMA conference room where he also warned that we are still in the middle of a pandemic.

He reminded that the nation still has active cases.

“Please continue to bear in mind that we are still facing an outbreak. There’s the potential for a second wave. We still have to be mindful that we have active cases that are still isolated but we have more tests pending. We continue to ask you to pray as a God fearing nation that we continue flattening this curve but we have to do so responsibly”, he said.

In response to persons requesting the reopening of the borders, Samuel said, “that is a very lengthy discussion that’s going to be very slow”.
