Conversations for Progress Meetings were Invaluable

DenzilDouglas-29(ZIZ News) — Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas has thanked the people of St. Kitts and Nevis for welcoming his government during the series of town hall meetings titled “Conversations for Progress.”

Dr. Douglas said the government-hosted Town Hall Meetings had been a vital tool in identifying that the people on both St. Kitts and Nevis wish to see the Federation truly become one.

“And I really want to commend the people of both St. Kitts and Nevis for entertaining us throughout these months of town hall meetings that were dubbed “Conversation for Progress”. Because it is out of these conversations with our people on both islands, Nevis and St. Kitts, that we are able again to recognize that the people of these two islands wanted a one St. Kitts and Nevis and they wanted to ensure that the progress that is presently being experienced here is spread across the entire land to both islands,” he said.

The Prime Minister said Conversations for Progress had also been instrumental in the creation of the recently announced Contract for Progress between the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party and the Nevis Reformation Party.

“And that is why, from their own raging, from their own philosophical posturing, we have been able to move beyond the conversation to what is now a Contract for Progress for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis to further become engaged and involved into what would be further cooperation and collaboration for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis as we progress and bring about real change for benefit of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis,” he said.
