Court Convictions Update

ZIZ News…Basseterre…May 1, 2013 — Morly Gumbs aka “Rumpy” and James Francis aka “Donkey Killa” of St. Pauls Village were convicted for wounding which was committed on 16th November 2011. Gumbs was sentenced to serve nine (9) months in prison with hard labour and Francis was sentenced to serve six (6) months in prison with hard labour.

Cynthia Sergeant of Tabernacle was convicted for wounding, which was committed on 16th September 2012 at Tabernacle, and given a suspended sentence of thirty (30) days in prison for a period of twelve (12) months.

Nigel Phillip aka “Abkin Bryan” of Cleverly, Sandy Point was convicted for several changes.

Among them, Battery which was committed on 15th September 2011, Unlawful Possession which was committed between 8th and 10th December 2011 at Sandy Point, and Resisting Arrest and Battery On Police which were committed on 23rd July 2012 at Sandy Point Station. For the charge of Battery, he was fined of $500.00 which is to be paid by 15th May 2013 or serve thirty (30) days in prison at hard labour. For Unlawful Possession, he was sentenced to two (2) months in prison which was reduced to fourteen (14) days with hard labour. For Battery on Police, he was fined $500.00 which is to be paid by 15th May 2013 or serve thirty (30) days in prison. For Resisting Arrest, he was fined $300.00 which is to be paid by 15th May 2013 or serve thirty (30) days in prison with hard labour.
