CPL Donation paves a way for Disadvantaged Youth

Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKNIS) — A minimum of 30 disadvantaged youth who aspire to gain quality education are set to benefit from US $10, 000 donated to the St. Kitts and Nevis National Education Foundation (SKNNEF) by the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Twenty20.

The money, which was raised during the Prime Minister’s XI all-star charity T20 game on July 2nd will go a long way, says the Ministry of Education’s Liaison Officer for the Foundation Lisa Pistana.

“There are many students out there that need a little extra help to get them over the hump and this [is] much appreciated,” she stated.

Young persons who will be attending school during the 2015-2016 academic year will be the first to benefit from the scholarship programme since its introduction in October 11, 2014.

Mrs. Pistana encouraged parents and/or students to go to the Ministry of Education either in St. Kitts or Nevis to apply.

The application process starts on July 20 and closes on September 14, 2015.

SKNNEF is designed to provide scholarships and grants to disadvantaged youth in order to advance their academic goals.
