Culture Cheque Presentation

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 26, 2019 (ZIZ News): On Thursday Digicel expressed its commitment to invest in the development of culture by presenting a cheque to members of The Carnival Committee, The Ministry and Department of Culture for a national dance competition, slated for this weekend.

Chairman of The Carnival Committee, Noah Mills in his opening statements stated the objectives of the dance competition is to provide a platform for the local talents to be displayed, to also infuse folklore and culture in to the competition and to select a team that will represent the country at Carifesta in Trinidad.

Marketing executive for Digicel, Yarayni Morton said Digicel is happy to contribute to the culture and folklore of the federation.

Director of Culture, Troy Mills said the department of culture is targeting the further development of folklore and this initiative is the start.

Miss Morton then proceeded to hand over the cheque to the Director of Carnival, Troy Mills.

The cheque will be given to the second prize winner of the dance competition.

The national dance competition will be held at carnival city on Friday July 26th at 8pm.
