Defense Force Recruits Graduate

ZIZ News, September 6 2013 — Over two dozen Defense Force recruits have now entered a new chapter of their lives having completed a 14 week training course.

A passing out parade was held on Thursday afternoon at the Defense Force Headquarters at Camp Springfield.

The event celebrated the accomplishments of 28 recruits who have dedicated their service to the country.

Midshipman Carlos Garnette told the gathering the course wasn’t easy; it tested the recruits physically and mentally and he commended the graduates on their success.

Delivering the feature address Prime Minister the right Hon Dr Denzil Douglas told the recruits that they will play a major role in various capacities such as responding to natural disasters.

He noted that they may also be called on to help when other islands are impacted by natural disasters or other crises.

The 14 week course covered a variety of topics including Military Law, HIV-Aids Awareness, and Money Management.
