Delta Petroleum Donates To The Youth

(ZIZ News) — Delta Petroleum is donating to the youth of the Federation in a big way.

In a brief ceremony on Tuesday, Delta donated $3000 to the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services’ 13th Annual Summer Safety Program.

In presenting the check, the company’s General Manager Bevis Sylvester made a five year commitment to the program.

“Children’s safety is very important and your theme for this year is very appropriate. I hope that we can continue, over the next five years, to contribute to such an initiative. Therefore, we will be committing to a five-year span of such contribution towards this program. The education of children as it relates to water, disaster, fire and traffic is very important to this society and we would always like to be a part of this initiative being part of our philanthropic responsibility to society,” he said.

Chief Fire Officer Everette O’garro expressed appreciation for the donation. He said it will assist in the training.

“The program is a very important one. It’s one that is done annually and it’s one that is done to make our community, for our children, a much safer place to be. This check will go a long way in helping to keep this very important program alive and so we want to say a very heartfelt thank you and we look forward to working with you in the future with respect to this very important program,” he said.

The Summer Safety Program, which teaches important safety tips and practices to children aged five to 12, will take place from July 22nd to July 24th, under the theme “Children’s Safety Is Our Responsibility”.
