Department of Statistics Recognizes Past Staff Member as Part of Week-long Celebration for Caribbean Statistics Day

Former staff member of the Department of Statistics in St. Kitts, Sylvene Henry, was presented with a card and food basket for the contribution that she has made to the department on Friday (October 19).

This initiative formed part of a week-long celebration for the observance of Caribbean Statistics Day that was celebrated on October 15 under the theme “Building Resilience of the Caribbean Community”.

During the distribution, Director of the department of Statistics, Carlton Phipps said, “we just want to make a small token of contribution to Mrs. Henry for her many years of service to the statistics department. We certainly appreciate the time that you spent with us. Thank you for your service and we also want to say congratulations on receiving the companion star of merit for your service to the public and the community.”

Senior Director of the Department of Statistics in the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Gaile Gray-Phillip, also thanked Mrs. Henry for her contribution to the department and encouraged her to continue promoting the department and motivating the staff.

Mrs. Henry worked in the Department of Statistics in St. Kitts from 1985 to 2004.

She dedicated 19 years to the department after serving as a teacher at the Basseterre High School.
