Deputy Commissioner Liburd Praise the Police’s Forensics Capabilities

StaffordLiburd-1(ZIZ News) — Deputy Commissioner of Police, Stafford Liburd is crediting recent arrests to the cooperation of the public and the hard work of the Force’s Forensics Department.

He told ZIZ News that the work of crime scene technicians is invaluable.

“That department is one that is very active; our Crime Scene Department, headed by Lieutenant Alexander, a well-trained individual. I believe that he has brought to the Force, and to the country on a whole, his experience and we have had several successes since he has been here,” he said.

Earlier this week, the police charged three young men with the murder of Javier Isaac. Liburd said Lieutenant Alexander and his team were an integral part of the investigations into that case.

“He has developed and continues to develop the Crime Scene Unit, both in St. Kitts and Nevis, to a level that I believe has given us the results that led to these arrests,” he explained.

Liburd also encouraged the public to contact the police if they have information about any crime or possible crime. Persons can also call Crime Stoppers at 1 800 8477.
